Avoiding Road Rage

This campaign to spread awareness is just the first step. We can save lives by sharing knowledge about road safety and road rage.

Common tips to prevent and avoid road rage

Before you drive

Leave earlier than you need to, being rushed is one of the biggest triggers for anger

Assume mistakes aren't personal

Most drivers aren't trying to be rude, they may be distracted or inexperienced

Stay calm

Positive energy helps reduce stress levels, anger and aggressiveness

Lower your expectations

Traffic will be slow sometimes, planning for that reduces frustration

Be well rested

Loss of sleep will seriously affect your mood and be distracting while driving

Be polite

Do not use your horn unless absolutely necessary

Name it, then redirect it

Silently saying “I’m getting annoyed” helps you regain control

Avoid escalating a situation

No yelling or rude gestures

Forgive and forget

Seriously let it go
